What are FMT, FM3 AND FM2?

The current entry form completed by all foreigners entering Mexico and traveling beyond the 20km 'frontier' zone, known as FMT-Forma Migratoria Turista-will be replaced by a FMM, or Forma Migratoria Multiple.

FMT: Is a 7 days Tourist Visa. but you must have a valid FMT to get an FM3.

FM-3: Is a Visa for temporary residents, renewable yearly for up to 5 years.

  • Cost: $1,038.00 pesos, $1,685.00 pesos.
  • Types: Resident Pensioner, Proffessional-Work Permission, Resident Investor.
  • Where to get: Immigration Office or Mexican consulate in the States. It's quicker and you don't need the appostille,you must register in Mexico within 45 days.

FM-2: is a Visa for permanent residents if you had an FM3 for at least 5 years.

  • Cost: $2,245.00 pesos (2,781.00 pesos when FM2 is applied for first time)
